A WREXHAM man who took a car without the owners consent has been handed a suspended jail sentence.
Callum Anthony Davies, aged 23, appeared before Wrexham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, February 9.
He pleaded guilty to taking a SEAT Leon without consent in Wrexham on October 24, 2021.
Davies, of Crescent Road in Wrexham, also admitted failing to stop for a police officer on Tower Road in Acrefair on the same date, as well as pleading guilty to failing to provide a roadside drugs test, as well as driving whilst disqualified and without insurance.
Davies was given an 18-week jail sentence, which has been suspended for 12 months.
Davies, who has been ordered to pay £400 in compensation, was spared immediate custody because he's had a "recent taste of custody" and has pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity. The Probation Service will continue to work with Davies, with there being "some prospect" of rehabilitation.
