A WREXHAM man's paintings of the faces of dozens of local people have gone on display in an exhibition.
Adrian Medcalfe has spent the last three years painting portraits of some of the town's well-known and much-loved characters.
His work, which features a variety of local pub-goers, landlords, doormen and sportsman, is now on display in the Yellow and Blue community hub on Henblas Street.
Each painting is done by using oils on canvas, and takes up to a week to complete. He visits Wrexham's pubs and takes photos of people, which he then designs his portrait from.
"They all duck when I go in the pub now," Adrian joked.
It all started when Adrian began painting the faces of Wrexham's homeless - which formed part of a project alongside the Wrexham Homeless charity.
"I then went on to paint the faces of legends of the town - the people who are the Heart of Wrexham," Adrian said.
"I'm very proud of the exhibition - it's part of the real culture of Wrexham.
"I'd like to thank Peter Humphreys (of Yellow and Blue) for giving me the opportunity to show my work, Martin Ould for helping me and the faces and legends of Wrexham for letting me paint them."
People have described his work as "amazing" and "awe-inspiring". And others have submitted photos of their loved ones, in the hope Adrian can paint them as well.
"I just love faces, they are like a landscape to me," Adrian added.
