All three of Wrexham's recycling centres now have their own defibrillator that members of the public can access during the operating hours of the sites.
FCC Environment, who manage the recycling centres in Wrexham, has recently completed installation of Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) at the Bryn Lane, the Lodge near Brymbo and Plas Madoc facilities.
Signage at each of the recycling centres direct people to where the defibrillator is located, and attendants can help people access them.
PADs can be lifesaving and are located in publicly available areas and require no training to use.
They work by delivering an electric shock to a casualty in cardiac arrest and are designed to be simple to use.
Cllr David a Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: "Having Public Access Defibrillators in the recycling centres is a really positive step, and we thank FCC Environment for making these life-saving devices available to the public. Hopefully the PADs won't ever be needed, but it's important to have them available in case of emergency. The more we have out there for the community to access can only a good thing, and will help save more lives."
