VOLUNTEERS of a Deeside project are continuing to work together to keep their community looking as tidy and as colourful as possible.
At the end of 2021, The Leader reported that the 'Our Back Yard' team had been busy creating wildflower areas across parks and green spaces in Connah's Quay.
During that year, the group estimates that its dedicated members contributed nearly 1,500 hours of volunteering since April.
This has helped to improve and maintain sites including, Quay Wetlands, Quayscape Community Garden, Golftyn Park, Central Park, Princes Park, Broadoak Woods, Llwyni Valley and Richmond Park.
And volunteers have continued their good work on in to the new year too, having just recently been planting fruit trees - cherry, apple and pear.
The group's first volunteer session of the new year took place on January 6 and, despite the awful weather, seven fantastic volunteers showed up to help cut down the willow bed at Quayscape Gardens.
A statement from the group read: "We will maintain our covid protocols, which we have had in place during the pandemic, including social distancing and no shared tool use.
"Going forward we will be running sessions every Tuesday and Thursday 10am start at different sites across Connah's Quay. We will keep you updated on which sites we will be meeting at."
