Yellow and Blue have launched new football teams and are getting ready to play against The Wrexham Town Police football team.
The YaB community hub can be found on Henblas street in Wrexham and has a constant stream of groups which help support people in the community.
YaB will play the police in a community football match in March, with their mixed team, though they are also running a women's team.
Kate Williams works at YaB and is coaching the team sessions which are tailored towards people with disabilities and mental health issues. Kate has struggled with mental health issues in the past and football was something that helped her, along with YaB.
She said: "I wanted to set it up for people with mental health issues to get involved in something that was a safe place of them."
The sessions have seen a positive turn out since they began last week. They play at the Llay Miners Welfare Institute, who donated the Saturday mixed team sessions to the new team as part of their charitable Saturday where they rent the AstroTurf pitch out for free. Both the Saturday session, 3pm-4pm, and the Wednesday ladies session 5pm-6pm are free and everyone is encouraged to join in.
They are already preparing their team for their match against the police and are hoping to get regular games in the future. They are also in the middle of sorting out their kits.
Kate added: "I'm working on watching people, how they play and their skillset so that I can build the team for March 5 when we play the police.
"At the moment we have a ladies only session (on a Wednesday) and then we have the mixed team session on the Saturday so everyone can be involved. Come March when we play the police it will be a mixed team. I'm very excited!
"It's taken off to a point I didn't think it would so quickly so it's overwhelming but in a good way.
"It's something I can run and make people happy with, I want to give back.
"We want to offer it out to everyone in Wrexham not just Yellow and Blue customers, we want it to be for the community."
Beth Klingenberg, the hospitality lead and volunteer coordinator thinks the new sessions are an exciting development for YaB.
She added: "I can't wait, I think its really good that they're playing the police as well. There's a lot of people (at Yellow and Blue) who will be involved too."
Both Kate and Beth are proud to be involved with YaB, which had been both helped them personally, and allowed them to help other people in the community.
Kate said: "For me to be able to spin my mental health around and give back to the community, that's all I've wanted to do.
"We have a thing in Yellow and Blue about having the right 'Why' and it's about helping people and supporting people and it's about not expecting anything back from it."
