A Mold-based business is celebrating raising more than £25,000 for its chosen charity in just two years.
Through various challenges, P&A Group have been fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
They raised more than £16,000 during 2021, contributing to their two-year grand total of £25,819.99, the highest figure raised for any P&A Group chosen charity in the last 11 years.
From marathons to cake days and raffles, employees of the company, from different divisions and at various sites, have gone the extra mile to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
The P&A Group comprises Zest 4 Leisure, a supplier of award-winning timber garden products, The Woodworks Garden Centre and Café in Mold, P&A Pallets & Packaging and St Andrews Business Centre for leased and virtual offices.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides physical, financial and emotional support to people diagnosed with cancer, from the moment they have been diagnosed through treatment and beyond.
Steve Morgan, managing director of the P&A Group said: "Everyone at the P&A Group has done a fantastic job to raise over £16,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2021 and I couldn't be prouder of them.
"As a family-run business it's really important we have a positive impact on local communities and raising money for charity is one of the ways that we can achieve this.
"One of the highlights for me last year was our 24-hour run/walk challenge which was inspired by, and in memory of, the remarkable fundraising achievements of the late Captain Sir Tom Moore.
"Employees from each of the Group's divisions pounded the pavements to raise a staggering £8,905.99!
"There has also been lots of smaller initiatives, such as football cards, which contributed over £270 to the total and Easter Hampers, donated by staff, which raised £575.
"No matter the scale of the challenge or initiative, every single penny raised is equally important and I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their dedication to the cause!"
Throughout 2021, employees at the P&A Group put their best foot forward when it came to raising money, none more so than Andrew Baker, the company's finance director.
At the start of the year, Andrew set himself a marathon challenge, which saw him run more than 1,600 miles and wear out four pairs of trainers!
He raised over £3,000 in the process and was joined by Iwan Gwyn, Woodworks Garden Centre manager, also part of the Group, who raised nearly £400 and covered over 1,000 miles doing his own running challenge.
Other notable fundraising events include Gaynor Phillip's Offa Dyke virtual walk/run which saw her raise £170, a 50/50 draw which has contributed over £1,350 to the total, a cake day (over £320), a raffle organised by Lynsey Blasco (£165) and various other events which raised over £112.
Eleri Brady, Macmillan relationship fundraising manager - Wales, added: "This outstanding total raised by the P&A Group will fund a nurse for just over five months or it could be used to help 73 families with a one-off grant to help with the extra costs that living with cancer can bring.
"We are extremely grateful, a huge thank you to everyone at P&A Group, every penny raised will help people living with cancer."
• Over the last 11 years, employees of the P&A Group have raised in excess of £100,000 for a variety of charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children's Hospices, Cancer Research UK, Action for Children, Alzheimer's Society, Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Meningitis Now.
