A man has thanked hospital staff for the treatment of his 81-year-old wife after she needed an operation on Boxing Day.
Brian Davies, who is about to turn 81, wanted to thank staff at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and show some positivity to the work that they are doing following his wife, Sheila's, stay at the hospital.
She was rushed into hospital just before Christmas and needed to have her gallbladder removed due to gallstones, which nearly entered her liver.
She had her operation on Boxing Day and was able to go home the following day, but Mr Davies wanted to publicly thank the staff for their work.
He said: "I'd like to thank them, the way they treated my wife and I'm forever grateful to them."
Although the wait for the ambulance totalled nine hours from when Mr Davies initially rang at 8.30pm, to when it came at 5.30 am the next morning, Mr Davies said he had regular phone calls from the emergency services to check up on his wife during their wait.
After her treatment, Mrs Davies is now home and was also impressed with the work of the staff.
Mr Davies added: "They were excellent according to my wife."
Mr Davies also praised paramedics having seen first-hand how busy they are. He wanted them to see a bit of positivity on their work.
