The majority of areas across Wrexham, Denbighshire and Flintshire have Covid case rates above 1,000 in the last seven days.
MSOA (middle layer super output areas) data released by Public Health Wales has revealed that more than one per cent of the population has tested positive for Covid in the last week in most areas across the region.
While more than one in 50 people caught coronavirus between December 21 and December 27 in one part of Flintshire.
Almost 150 people tested positive for Covid in Connah’s Quay South & Northop Hall during that period, leaving it with a case rate of 2,181.2 cases per 100,000 people.
The second worst case rate in the region was found in Denbighshire, where Denbigh East & Pentre Llanrhaeadr had a case rate of 1,882.5 cases per 100,000 people, among the highest ten per cent across Wales.

- Llandyrnog & Llanarmon-yn- Iâl: 91 new cases; a rate of 1,487.2 cases per 100,000 people.
- Ruthin: 101 new cases; a rate of 1,794.6 cases per 100,000 people.
- Corwen, Llanelidan & Efenechdyd: 74 new cases; a rate of 1,400.2 cases per 100,000 people.
- Llangollen & Llandrillo: 111 new cases; a rate of 1,733.0 cases per 100,000 people.
