An inquest has been opened into the death of a Flintshire pensioner who died following a collision while walking in his home village.
Noel Garner, 74, of Llys-y-Wern, Sychdyn, near Mold, died at the Royal Stoke University Hospital on December 13, following the incident which occurred on November 25 on the A5119 near the Cross Keys public-house.
At the inquest opening in County Hall, Ruthin John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said that Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers had given the cause of death as “severe blunt force head injury due to a road traffic collision”.
The coroner said police investigations were continuing and the inquest may be resumed, depending on the outcome of the enquiries.
