A DOG walker in Flintshire was shocked to come across this non-native species of snake.
The snake, believed to be a California kingsnake, was discovered by a man out walking his dog in Mostyn on Friday afternoon.
California kingsnakes are non-venomous, and are commonly owned as pets.
The snake was going to be taken in by a local animal rescue centre, but its owner has now been located and it will be returned home.
