Thousands attended to see Jurassic Live in Wrexham town centre this weekend.

For this weekend only (December 11 and December 12) the dinosaurs are roaming the streets of Wrexham in support of Nightingale House Hospice.

Day one of the event is said to have gone “incredibly well” and it is estimated from council street counters that they had around 11,000 people attend on Saturday and are expecting even more today (Sunday, December 12) for the event which is ongoing from 12pm to 3pm.

Samuel Foulkes, managing director of Rock the Park Wrexham Limited, who are the company behind Jurassic Live, said: "Myself, Stewart, Molly and Tom along with the rest of the Rock the Park team would like to thank everyone for their support this weekend. While totals will be counted up by Nightingale House Hospice, we estimate we have raised thousands of pounds for the hospice.

“We are also incredibly proud at the turn out despite the horrible weather this weekend. People turned out in their thousands to support not only the hospice with kind donations but also the many shops, cafés and markets in the town which is amazing especially two weeks before Christmas.

“Seeing the amazement on the children's and adults faces when the dinosaurs appeared makes all our hard work worth it. It's why we continue to do these events for Wrexham.

“We absolutely love this town and will continue to stage these unique events to support the town. I would also like to thank our team of volunteers who worked incredibly hard this weekend from the puppeteers to the bucket collectors. They all did an absolutely fantastic job, and I can't thank them enough.”
