Ruabon Dental Practice made history when it was shortlisted as a finalist at the Dentistry Awards 2021.

The dental industry's largest event of the year was held this month at the Athena, Leicester, which the Wrexham dentistry team attended.

Over 500 dental employees gathered at the Dentistry Awards 2021 to celebrate their successes in what has proved to be an extremely challenging year and, for the first time in its ten year history, a practice from North Wales was shortlisted as a finalist.

Dan Naylor, clinical director at Ruabon Road Dental Practice said: "We were proud to be flying the flag for North Wales.

"As an independent NHS practice in it was an honour to be considered alongside large corporate practices and private city surgeries from not only Wales but across the West of England all the way down to Cornwall".

The event recognises the hard work and determination dental teams across the UK have displayed throughout the pandemic and the challenges it continues to bring.

Instagram influencer and celebrity The Singing Dentist Dr Milad Shadrooh co-hosted the ceremony, and presented Ruabon Road Dental Practice with Highly Commended awards for Best Patient Care and Best Practice.

Dan added: "We were over the moon with the result. Recognition by the dentistry industry is a real boost after such a tough year.

"It bears testimony to how our team went above and beyond to deliver outstanding patient care in the face of real adversity.

'We are always grateful for our patients' support which has been even more prevalent since the nominations were announced. We have been flooded with positive messages of encouragement and appreciation making us proud to be part of such a wonderful community."

The award now proudly sits in the reception at the practice, for all to see.
