A tennis charity event will be taking places this weekend, an aid of Clic Sargent young lives vs cancer.

The tennis event will be filled with activities and includes the goal to hit 2,700 shots as an entire group.

No tennis ability is required and there will be a raffle and prizes, which include vouchers for meals, a PT session, golf lesson, tennis lessons and memberships.

Mike Herd who, along with Mark Adams, is running the event, said: “We’re just trying to raise as much money as possible.

“Mark Adams is the coach who contacted me and when he was younger he had cancer himself and Clic Sargent helped him a lot so he’s always trying to help out and do stuff for the charity. He asked me to help run the event with him.”

He added: “It’s a really nice, fun way to get a bit of exercise, and having lots of fun. We’ve got a really good raffle with lots of prizes, we’ve had a lot of donations from local businesses as well so there’s lots prizes on offer, and we provide all the equipment so anyone can come and take part.”

Mark Adams explained: "Clic Sargent helped with all financial support and took a lot of stress off my phenomenal parents. I couldn’t be more thankful for having this charity on my side.”

The event will be taking place at Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club on Sunday, December 12 between 10 am to 1pm. They will then go to Helsby Tennis Club 2pm till 5pm.

It is open to all so anyone who wants to join in, can.
