HUNDREDS of people attended a funeral to bid an emotional farewell to a much-loved Deeside teenager.
Many wore football shirts as a tribute to Evertonian Kai Benjamin Lloyd, who tragically died last month.
The 14-year-old's funeral was held at St Mark's Church in Connah's Quay on Friday.
Ahead of the funeral, Kai's mum, Lisa, said: "Thank you so much for all your support and how generous everyone has been.
"We cannot thank people enough for all the wonderful comments and just the sheer amount of love and support shown to myself and my family after the tragic death of our special boy."
A fundraising page set up in the wake of Kai's death has raised £10,000 - which helped his family give him the best possible send off.
Kai's family asked mourners to wear colourful clothes or football shirts to the service as "that's what Kai would have wanted."
Some wore Everton shirts with the words 'Kai Ben' on the back along with the number 14.
Floral wreaths surrounded his coffin including the words, 'Son', Brother' and 'Grandson', as well as the letters 'EFC'.
The funeral procession drove past Kai's primary school, Ysgol Cae'r Nant, and Connah's Quay High School, where he was a pupil up until his death.
Mourners, many of which included Kai's school friends, lined the streets around the church to pay their respects - a true testament to his character.
