A WREXHAM teenager has penned a song in memory of his late father with the aim of raising money for Wrexham Foodbank this Christmas.

Osian Jones' dad Gareth Powell Jones was found dead at his parents home on Gerald Street on Sunday, April 18 of this year.

The 50-year-old was a huge Wrexham AFC fan and described as 'incredibly kind and compassionate' by family members.

Fifteen-year-old Osian has released a track entitled 'See You Again' in tribute to his dad.

The money raised from sales (£3) is going towards supporting the Wrexham Food Bank. The track has so far raised around £500 of its £750 target.

Osian's guitar teacher, Dale Irving, who has been giving him lessons since he was nine-years-old, helped him put the song together, as well as a few of his friends.

On vocals for 'See You Again' is Luke Gallagher, Osian is on backing vocals and acoustic guitar, while Dale is on electric guitar, keyboard and backing vocals, with Pete Clark on bass and Dan Konopka on the drums.

Dale said: "We’ve been trying to raise money for Wrexham food bank over the past month or so using the track written by Osian and we're not far off the target now. We're hoping we can hit the £750 mark before Christmas.

"Osian's dad Gareth was loved throughout the town and was a well-known Wrexham fan. Chris from The Saith Seren and Wayne from The Turf pubs have put a few CDs and flyers out which has helped but we could do with a bit more help.

"We even tried to give a copy of the CD to Ryan Reynolds when he was here but we were unsuccessful there unfortunately!

"I really do think it's a great track that Osian has created. I think even if you don't know the sad back story, you will still appreciate how good it is. It's turned out well and is a really good Indie song."

Anyone who downloads 'See You Again' is also in with a chance of winning a free guitar and amp starter pack. To listen and download the track, visit: www.daleirving.bandcamp.com
