A FLINTSHIRE pub is closing its doors after a "very hard" time during the pandemic.
The Ruthin Castle, on New Street in Mold, is closing down on Friday.
The pub's landlady, Helen Rogers, issued a statement on the Ruthin Castle Facebook page saying: "The last two years have been very hard and we have decided that enough is enough.
"We will be closing on Friday. We are not sure yet what will be happening with the pub but as soon as we know I will pass on the information.
"Thank you all for your custom over the years."
The pub's owners said they have had some "amazing" times over the last decade, but that it's "time to move on".
Dozens of people took to social media to express sadness at the news.
One person said they were "absolutely gutted" at the news, while former Mold mayor, Councillor Theresa Carberry described it as "sad news".
