One person said: "Soulless construction sucking the life out of the village yet again for financial gains. Very sad."
Another added: "Very sad. We have had some great times with great people over the years - we made fantastic memories."
A further comment said: "[It] Was a landmark in the village and good times had by lots of people over many years."
Other people are pleased to see that the building is no longer sat derelict.
"Had many a good night in The Feathers," one person said.
"Sad to see it coming down, but it will be a lot better than a derelict building sitting empty."
Another person said: "Such a shame to see such a beautiful building come down, but new houses will be far more beneficial than an unused, crumbling down pub."
