TRAVELLERS across the nation have ensured that a Denbighshire town has come out on top in a staycation study to find the UK's top destination for autumn travel.
Holiday rentals marketplace HomeToGo and Wayfair have teamed up to launch a giveaway offering the chance to win a luxury stay in one of the UK's cosiest new holiday homes: The Wildwood Spa.
To celebrate the launch, HomeToGo journeyed into the UK countryside to find the top trending destinations for cosy staycations, uncovering which market towns and chocolate-box villages have seen the most significant increases in interest for 2021 autumn holidays.
Llangollen soared to first place, with travellers across the nation no doubt drawn in by its cosy corners and snug scenes.
Also featured in the top five are Bamburgh, Bakewell, Alnmouth and Keswick. Featured further down on the list in 14th is Anglesey village Benllech.
Llangollen was number one on its list of 'Cosiest Corners'.
A description of the town on HomeToGo read: "After countryside walks in the surrounding Clwydian Range & Dee Valley AONB, head to The Corn Mill - a pub in an 18th century mill on the River Dee with sweeping views of the Grade 1 listed Llangollen Bridge. Refuel with hearty grub and cask ale while watching the old-fashioned steam train chug cheerfully along the heritage railway across the river."
