A UNIQUE voucher scheme to help boost footfall in Mold town centre has been extended.

The Totally Mold voucher scheme, which expired at the end of August, was organised by Mold Town Council in response to the massive unprecedented challenges that the pandemic has created.

Unlike generic high street vouchers which can be spent anywhere and usually take money away from the town, the Totally Mold voucher can only be spent in one or more of our many participating businesses/services in Mold, which means all this money stays within the local economy.

In total, almost £15,000 of vouchers were sold and due to the success of the scheme, it is being be re-launched and they will be back on sale from November 3, 2021.

Vouchers can then be purchased from the pop up shop in the Town Hall on Earl Road Tuesday – Thursday from 10am – 3pm, online by visiting www.totallymoldvouchers.org.uk or over the phone by calling 01352 758532 - with option three to place your order for collection or delivery.

The Leader:

This year even more businesses and service providers will be accepting Totally Mold Vouchers, with 88 Mold businesses accepting them.

They will be valid until August 31, 2022.

For a full list of participating businesses, visit www.totallymoldvouchers.org.uk or call into the Town Hall to pick up a leaflet.

Councillor Sarah Taylor, mayor of Mold, said: "The take up of the vouchers last year was fantastic, and as such kept almost £15,000 of money in our local economy.

"We are lucky in Mold that our town is vibrant and this is due to the fantastic traders and businesses that we have in town and the loyal customer bases that they have grown.

"Spending locally has a hugely beneficial impact on the town and we would encourage everyone to buy some vouchers."

The town council is urging anyone who has unspent/ expired Totally Mold vouchers to get in touch and they will be exchanged for the new valid version, free of charge.

Joanna Douglass, business and regeneration officer for the town council, said: "If every adult in Mold spent just £5 per week in their local shops and businesses, instead of online or outside of the town, it would be worth £2 million going directly into our local economy.

"This means more jobs, a better high street, a stronger economy and a nicer place to live and visit.”
