ST MARY'S CP SCHOOL, Wrexham

'Go Green' day at St Mary's CP School, Wrexham.

Pupils have been exploring Cafod’s ‘Eyes of the World’ campaign and looking at ways in which they can make a change both globally and within their local community.

As part of the campaign, the school has been looking at how the coronavirus pandemic has pushed millions of people around the world into poverty and deepened inequality. The poorest and most vulnerable people in the world are also the ones who are being hit the hardest. Some of those within the local communities in Wrexham.

With this in mind, the pupils organised and celebrated a ‘Go Green’ day as part of Cafod’s campaign on October 1. All pupils contributed a generous selection of harvest donations including canned foods, dried foods and toiletries which were donated to Wrexham Food Bank.

After gathering their donations and seeing how much they had collected there were smiles all round! The pupils were happy to have been able to give to others and incredibly proud of their team effort to ‘Be the rainbow in someone else’s cloud’.

Elsewhere in the school, Dosbarth Robins embraced the change in season, celebrating with their 'Awesome Autumn' day. Youngsters took part in lots of craft activities, cooking and a pumpkin smash!
