The Netflix movie, co-starring Tom Hardy, is called Havoc.
During a break from filming, Forest visited some seaside locations in Pembrokeshire.
He posed for snaps at Tenby's St Catherine's Island and the pier at Penarth.
He tweeted: "Enjoying time in the beautiful Wales before going back to set."
The actor, who won an Oscar for his performance as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland in 2006 is also known for his roles in Platoon, Bird, Good Morning, Vietnam, and Marvel's Black Panther.
Forest isn't the only celebrity to be enjoying time in Pembrokeshire.
TV host and author Carol Vorderman has been keeping her followers on Instagram happy with photos and videos of her paddleboaring in west Wales.
