We live in an unquestionably beautiful part of the world, and no one knows this better than the people who call it home.
Today we release the latest of our new feature, No Place Like Home, giving readers the chance to tell us what they love about Wrexham and/or Flintshire.
Whether you were born here or planted roots later in life, share what makes our corner of North Wales so special to you.
To take part you can fill in our Q&A here or email claire.pierce@newsquest.co.uk for more details.
Today we look at Wrexham and beyond, first from the view of with Shirley Edwards, who lives in Bersham...
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I’m a pensioner, I worked at NEWI, Yale Grove Park Site and Deeside College.
I have lived in North Wales almost 70 years and I was born at Plas Buckley Farm, Bersham
What do you most like about it?
It’s rural but easy to go either North or South with the A483.
Places or things to do someone visiting should make the effort to go to:
Bersham a very pretty village, with three waterfalls, and the iron works (which has been closed for a number of years).
The aquaduct is nice for a walk along the canal if you have a head for heights over the River Dee.
And Erddig Hall, another lovely place to visit.
Best memory of your time living here?
Going to the livestock market and the stalls below on a Monday. A real treat when I was young.
Favourite local pub and why?
Bersham Club, very friendly, they have a bowls green, with the usual games to play, and other entertainment at weekends.
What one thing that has gone do you miss most?
The individual shops in the town centre.
Favourite building in the region?
St Giles Church, with its spectacular interior, and the grave of Yale.
Where would you go for a special meal?
The Cock O’Barton, just over the border, excellent food.
Best place for a walk?
Along the canal in Llangollen, so pretty, with all of the boats just drifting by.
One thing you would change or that the area needs?
The town needs individual shops not big concerns. The rates are far too high in the Wrexham town Centre.
The free parking after 11 am, I think has done a lot to try and bring people into Wrexham itself.
• And next we get the views of Hanna Clarke, from Moss Valley…
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I’m 40, and an events and marketing manager. I’ve lived here 40 years.
What do you most like about it?
That we have a modern urban environment so close to great countryside.
We are also only a 40 minute drive from great cities and a fabulous coast line.
Places or things to do someone visiting should make the effort to go to:
Anywhere along the coast; Erddig; Plas Power woods and Nant Mill.
Best memory of your time living here?
Too many to think of.
Favourite local pub?
Pant-yr-Ochain, in Gresfod.
What one thing that has gone do you miss most and why?
Hippodrome in Wrexham, the atmosphere just isn't the same in the big Odeon.
Are you a Wrexham AFC fan?
Yes!
Favourite building in the region?
St Giles Parish Church, in Wrexham.
Where would you go for a special meal?
Corn Mill in Llangollen, it’s where I was proposed to.
Best place for a walk and why?
Nant Mill, Plas Power woods. Lovely scenery, good parking, river good for dogs. Not too hilly.
One thing you would change or that the area needs?
I would change people who throw litter!!
My Wrexham/Flintshire
Everything you love about where you live.
