SPEED checks have been carried out in the Brymbo area following complaints from local residents.
Councillor Paul Rogers and Simon Baynes MP contacted North Wales Police following complaints about speeding traffic on main roads in the community.
As a result, PCSOs Henshaw and Peers carried out proactive speed monitoring on Phoenix Drive in Brymbo.
Out of 60 vehicles clocked, 10 percent exceeded the 30 mph speed limit. Those who exceeded the speed limit will be written to by North Wales Police.
North Wales Police confirmed that speed monitoring checks will be carried out across the area in the near future following the concerns from residents.
Welcoming the action, Councillor Paul Rogers said: "Residents across the Brymbo and Tanyfron area are concerned about the increase in speeding traffic.
"This was inevitable after the lockdown however I am pleased that North Wales Police have been carrying out speed monitoring following complaints from the community"
"Speed monitoring and enforcement is the responsibility of North Wales Police and as councillor for Brymbo I raise all concerns around road safety with both the Police and Wrexham Council."
He added: "I recognise that they cannot be there all the time however these speed checks are to be welcomed.
"I have raised the issue of speeding traffic on roads including Coedyfelin Road, Phoenix Drive and Tanyfron Road and I'm glad that these checks will be happening on these roads in the near future."
