CLUBBERS across North Wales will be gearing up for a night of revelry with the news that nightclubs can finally reopen their doors tomorrow.

Wales has announced a move to Alert Level One from tomorrow (Saturday), and so nightclubs across the area will be able to welcome back revellers.

Clubs across Flintshire and Wrexham will be frantically polishing their disco balls and dusting off their dance floors ready to reopen their doors.

The Leader has taken a look at some of our local nightclubs to see what they have planned for this weekend and what measures will be in place to keep staff and clubbers safe.

In Wrexham, ATIK on Brook Street is holding an Ibizan Zoo Party with DJs in three different rooms and entertainers such as stilt walkers and fire breathers on Saturday night.

Clubbers will be able to dance their socks off until 4am. Club manager Mat Evans said there would be classic house in the main room, with 'Guilty Pleasures' in the Vinyl room and Urban music in Curve.

Tickets 'flying out'

Mat Evans said they were working hard to make tomorrow a fun and safe night to remember for revellers at this ticketed event.

The club has been holding staff training sessions in the lead up to this moment and have made plans to enable clubbers who still want to wear masks to do so in specially designated zones.

He will also be encouraging staff to wear their masks and use any other appropriate personal protection equipment.

Mat said: "We are extremely excited to be reopening and to be getting back to it and delivering the whole experience while keeping it safe and making it a night they will never forget. The full team are ready and raring to go. We've been in training sessions this week in terms of the safety side of things. We'll have zones where, if people want to wear a mask, they can. We've also got a special cleaning regime in place.

"Clubbers coming along tomorrow can expect the full show, with lights, three rooms with DJs, and live entertainers coming in and stilt walking and fire breathing. There'll be lots of giveaways.

"We'd already sold 600 tickets by this morning. They're flying out."

Return of live music

Meanwhile, the Tivoli in Buckley took to Facebook to share its delight at the news, saying: "We have just seen the guidance for the return of live music in Wales . . . MOST OF YOU WILL BE HAPPY, we certainly are. More info will follow tomorrow after the Welsh AM announcement."

This was greeted with happy replies along the lines of "fantastic news!" and "yippee!".

And on Twitter, they declared "back to business!" with news of a rock fest featuring four bands including Crazee Bone and The Clan which will happen on August 21.

The club will be taking special measures to protect staff and event attendees alike, including reducing the club's capacity for the foreseeable future, for social distancing purposes.

Masks can, of course, still be worn inside and, while testing is not compulsory, the club would prefer people to do this before visiting.

The Tivoli has a what's on section on its website, with a combination of live music gigs and club nights on offer.
