WREXHAM Council has announced its latest road closure within the county borough which will affect motorists.

Drivers will be prohibited from using roads across the county for various works.

Here’s the latest planned works and closures:

  • B5097 High Street:

B5097 High Street, Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham from its junction with Broad Street in a N. direction for a distance of 390m to its junction with Ty Gwyn.

This will be from August 16 to enable Wrexham Council to undertake carriageway resurfacing.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Broad Street, Queen Street, B5426, B5605, B5426 and B5907 and will be signposted accordingly.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 2 weeks, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

  • Hullah Lane

From August 18, Hullah Lane, Wrexham from its junction with Holt Road in a E. direction for a distance of 862m to its junction with Cefn Road for carriageway resurfacing.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Holt Road, Cefn Road and Hullah Lane and will be signposted.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 4 weeks, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

  • Lower Minster

From August 23, Lower Minster, Wrexham from its junction with Barkers Lane in a S. direction for a

distance of 207m to its junction with Jeffreys Road to enable O’Connor Utilities Ltd. to undertake works on the highway.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Barkers Lane, Jeffreys Road, and Lower Minster and will be signposted.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 9 days, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

  • Ty Coch

From September 6, Ty Coch Bungalow to Hand Hotel Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceirog, Llangollen, Wrexham, in a W. direction for a distance of 3,000m. to enable Sunbelt Rentals Ltd. access to the overhead network.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via B4500 Hafod Adams to Swch Road/B4500 and Tregeiriog cross roads to Hafod Adams/Lane from Tregeiriog Farm to Pensarn junction C203 and will be signposted.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 20 days, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

  • Plas Madoc

From August 9, Hampden Way, Plas Madoc, from its junction with Whalleys Way in a E. direction for a distance of 726m for carriageway resurfacing.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Whalleys Way, Peris, Oak Road and Hampden Way and will be signposted.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 2 weeks, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

  • Chirk

From August 12, Heol Glyndwr, Chirk, Wrexham from its junction with Heol Yr Efail in an E. direction for carriageway resurfacing.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Heol Yr Efail, Heol Maelor, New Road and Heol Offa and will be signposted.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 2 weeks, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

  • Bangor-on-Dee

From August 31, B5069 Overton Road, Bangor-on-Dee, Wrexham, from its junction with Abbey Gardens in a S. direction for a distance of 100m. to enable William Hughes (Civil Engineering) Ltd. To undertake embankment reinforcing works.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via B5069 High Street, Whitchurch Road, A525 Wrexham Road, B5426 Straight Mile, A528 Wrexham Road, A539 Wrexham Road and Turning Street and will be signposted.

Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 7 weeks, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.
