FLINTSHIRE council has apologised for disruption after delays in roadworks mean temporary traffic lights remain in place.
The Leader previously reported that Flintshire County Council appointed Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd to carry out improvement works at the A541 Abermorddu and Hollybush Junctions.
This was then followed by some minor footway and signage works in the area prior to the traffic signal installation, which was scheduled to commence on June 28.
However, motorists have expressed frustration as temporary lights remain in place.
Flintshire’s Chief Officer for Streetscene and Transportation, Katie Wilby, said: “The Council successfully secured funding to make improvements to the Abermorddu and Cefn Y bedd junctions on the A541 and the majority of the works have now been completed, however there have been delays in the signalisation of the Cefn Y Bedd junction.
“The new traffic signals have now been installed and are anticipated to be commissioned week beginning 9 August 2021. Temporary traffic lights are in place and will remain so until the commissioning of the signals to ensure the junction is safe for highway users. We apologise for any disruption caused.”
