A group who use a charity that empowers young people with disabilities aged 15-25 years to make a difference in their own lives, along with staff, took on a challenge for another good cause.

The youngsters and staff from the Dynamic Futures Project based in Wrexham, successfully completed an 8k sponsored walk last month.

The walk was following the Clwydian path from Coedpoeth to Bersham Falls and back into Wrexham. The aim of which was to raise funds to purchase much-needed first aid supplies to be sent to the Gambia.

Clare Barnes, Dynamic Futures Project co-ordinator, said: "This particular fundraising initiative was chosen by the young people on the project as the international cause they'd most like to devote their time and efforts to.

"We are incredibly proud of the young people's interest in global citizenship and their desire to truly make a difference.

"The walk was planned and organised by the young people with minimal staff support.

"This involved them working together, developing a range of skills, including decision making, problem solving, time management and communication.

"The walk itself was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone on the day.

"We would like to thank everyone who has sponsored the team, your money will make a difference to others living in the Gambia and we are very grateful for your support."
