NEW data from health authorities shows COVID levels in North Wales continue to rise – but signs of improvement are there.
In recent weeks, figures have continued to climb across the region.
Public Health Wales can show exactly how our different communities compare with their mapping feature which was first added to the daily update provided by health officials in response to monitoring COVID-19 in October 2020.
It presents data broken down beyond the standard local authority areas that people could previously access and now shows how individual communities compare.
In their most recently updated map, towns and villages in North Wales have been reporting increased levels of the virus as the Delta variant takes a firm hold of North Wales.
Below, we took a snapshot look of the latest available seven-day period from July 12 to 18.

Here’s what we found in Flintshire:
The map highlights that several parts of the county have fallen foul of the Delta spread, with most communities now reporting jumps in their COVID data.
The latest data shows that almost every part of the map had entered a higher band when recording new cases in the specified week.

However, some areas did make major improvements compared to last week, such as Flint South West, the Leeswood/Treuddyn cluster and Hope.

Now, figures have reached high levels once more. The most alarming rise comes from New Broughton and Bryn Cefn – recording 55 cases in the last week alone.
However, some areas have made steps towards improvement – with communities such as Caia Park, the Gresford cluster and Ruabon lowering numbers to name a few.
A massive improvement came from the cluster of Rhos and Johnstown South – dropping from 79 cases to 35.
