A WREXHAM man has been found guilty of killing a 60-year-old in his bed.
Barry John Bagnall, of Caia Park, was found guilty of murder by a jury at Mold Crown Court today, Wednesday.
The trial, which lasted four weeks, ended on June 24 with jurors taking several days to mull over their decision.
In total, the group took over 16 hours (broken up over five days) to reach their final verdict.
Standing in court, Bagnall learnt his fate after the jury foreman confirmed that they found him guilty with a split of 10-2.
On perverting the course of justice, the jury unanimously agreed that Bagnall was guilty.
They have heard how Bagnall, 42, was alleged to have struck Terry Edwards, of Pont Wen in Caia Park, over the head with a weapon in May 2020.
Mr Edwards’ body was found on June 1, 2020, covered by a duvet having suffered serious head injuries that are believed to have been caused by multiple hammer blows.
A murder investigation was launched shortly after.
Bagnall will be sentenced next week.
