A NUMBER of drink and drug-drivers appeared at Mold Crown Court earlier this week.

Maksim Chamenskij, aged 33 and of Chester Road East in Shotton appeared at the court on Monday.

He admitted that on April 18 at Mold Road in Connah's Quay he drove a Lexus 220 after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the limit.

There were 93 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit being 35.

He received a fine of £200 and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge, as well as £85 costs.

The court also disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 23 months.

Sean Cooney, aged 30 and of Hawarden Road in Caergwrle, appeared at the court on Monday.

He admitted that on October 18 last year on the A550 in Hope, he drove a BMW 5 Series when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in his blood exceeded the prescribed limit.

There were 231 microgrammes of the substance per litre of his blood - the limit being 50.

He was fined £369 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £37, as well as £85 costs.

The court also disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.

Darren Thomas Moreton-Evans, aged 46 and of Kelsterton Road in Connah's Quay, appeared at the court for trial on Tuesday.

He was found guilty of having driven a Volvo motor vehicle on the A548 at Deeside Industrial Estate on December 31, 2020, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the limit.

There were 65 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath - the limit being 35.

He was fined £692 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £69, as well as £640 costs.

Moreton-Evans was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months.

Adam Stephen Gage, aged 29 and of Maes Cynfaen in Brynford, appeared at the court on Tuesday.

He admitted that on October 24, 2020, he drove a Volkswagen Golf on the A548 in Bagillt when the proportion of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) in his blood exceeded the specified limit.

There were 10 microgrammes of the substance per litre of his blood - the limit being 2.

He was fined £166 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, as well as £85 costs.

Gage was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.

Billie Jo Leighton, aged 30 and of New Swan Lane in Flint, appeared at the court on Tuesday.

She admitted that on October 25, 2020, she drove a Land Rover Freelander on Holywell Road in Bagillt when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in her blood exceeded the specified limit.

There were 328 microgrammes of the substance per litre of her blood - the limit being 50.

She was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge as well as £85 costs.

Leighton was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months.

Nathan Brian Robbins, aged 28 and of Bluebell Estate in Pandy, appeared at the court on Tuesday.

He admitted that on December 3 in Minera he drove a Vauxhall Astra on Hillcroft after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his urine exceeded the prescribed limit.

There were 117 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of urine - the limit being 107.

He was FO Fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, as well as £85 costs.

Robbins was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14 months.
