A WREXHAM resident has described the "surreal" moment he woke to see a Hollywood star filming a movie on his street.
Australian actress Rebel Wilson has been spotted filming in Wrexham over the last week for her new film, 'The Almond And The Sea Horse', - an on-screen adaption of Kaite O’Reilly’s stage play.
And on Saturday morning, Wilson, who has starred in films including Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect and The Hustle, was spotted filming on Cunliffe Street in Rhosddu.
Stuart Wojdyta has been living on the street for 25 years - and admits nothing like this has happened in that time.
"I thought there had been an incident and the forensics had been called," he joked.
"I feared the worst when I saw all the vans, high vis jackets and the PSO Officer at 8.50 on a Saturday morning."
But when Stuart spotted the actress, he realised what was going on.
He said: "I woke up and Hollywood had come to Rhosddu.
"Seeing Rebel Wilson walk up Acton Road into the house two doors away from our home was quite surreal."
The film's production company, Mad as Birds, are also making Wrexham-based movie 'A League Apart’ - starring Ricky Tomlinson.
