RESIDENTS of all ages were delighted to receive a tasty treat from two special visitors over Easter.
Dawn Astbury, of Mostyn, told the Leader she wanted to spread joy over the bank holiday weekend by giving out chocolate eggs to her community.
She donned an Easter Bunny costume and joined her friend Gaz Dale, dressed as Spider-Man, before dropping off around 200 eggs to children and elderly residents on Sunday.
Mum-of-two Miss Astbury, 41, said: "Last year I put an advert online asking if people would like me to call at their house and deliver an egg, so this year I thought why not do it again?
"I put a small post up asking what people thought and there were so many saying yes!
"I put a donation tin in the Mostyn Shop and it was full within a week. "We managed to buy 250 eggs and had another 60 to 70 donated.
"My friend Gaz dressed as Spider-Man, as he did last year, and my friend Charlotte Roberts helped by driving the eggs round and keeping them cool so they didn't melt.
"We gave loads out, and not just to children - but to elderly residents too.
"I gave one lady an egg and she was so happy. It made her day.
"It was brilliant to see the smiles on everyone's faces and it has been so nice that the community has pulled together at this time with the donations.
"It's just been amazing."
The remaining eggs will be donated to Holywell Community Hospital this week.
