ROAD closures and planning applications are amongst the public notices issued by Wrexham Council this week.

The council has received three planning applications on listed buildings and conservation areas.

One is for two detached dwellings on land adjacent to Cambrian House on Well Street in Cefn Mawr, Wrexham (Conservation Area).

Another is for a new fire escape at the The Fat Boar pub on Yorke Street in Wrexham (Conservation Area)

The other application relates to change of use of a building at 3 – 9 Hope Street from a retailer premises to commercial premises (Conservation Area).

Wrexham Council is also notifying people of the following road closures:

  • From April 19, Oak Mount Farm Road, Windy Hill, Cefn Y Bedd from its junction with Bellan Lane in a NE. direction for a distance of 300m to enable the erection of scaffolding to undertake works to Windy Hill Chapel. The alternative route for vehicles aaffected by the closure is via Bellan Lane and Top Windy Hill Lane and will be signposted. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure - which is expected to last for 2 weeks.
  • From April 12, Church Road, Minera, Wrexham, from its junction with B5426 Minera Hall Road in a NW. direction for a distance of 80m to enable Sunbelt Rentals Ltd to access overhead network. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Minera Hall Road, A525 Ruthin Road, B5430 Old Road, Bwlchgwyn, Ffordd Newydd, Ffordd Isaf and Ffordd-y-Ysgol and will be signposted. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure - which is expected to last 10 days.
  • From April 2, Claypit Lane, Gresford, from its junction with Chester Road in a NE direction for a distance of 450m to its junction with Wynnstay Lane to enable Wales & West Utilities Ltd. will be closed to undertake gas mains replacement. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Chester Road and Wynnstay Lane and will be signposted. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the period of closure - which is expected to last for two weeks.
