A CAERGWRLE child has inspired her class to join her fundraising campaign in memory of her baby brother.
The Leader has reported on the exploits of six-year-old Evie Fish and her and two-year-old brother Sonny - who have been fundraising in memory of her baby brother, Leo.
Leo died aged just 13 weeks old after a battle with an undiagnosed heart condition - and Evie and Sonny have pledged to fundraise for good causes in his memory.
The pair recently completed a 20-mile walk and are aiming to raise funds to buy gifts for children currently in hospital.
And inspired by their classmate's heroics, the Year 1 class at Abermorddu Primary School - which Evie is a part of - have decided to join in with the fundraiser.
They have pledged to walk a mile a day next week to raise money for Evie's fundraising campaign.
And to let parents of the pupils know about the scheme, Evie designed a poster which they took home to show their parents.
Evie's mum, Nicola, said: "Evie was there through it all with us - she was our reason to wake up in the morning after Leo died.
"We are so proud of how well she accepted the situation with myself being away from her for so long, especially after just having Leo.
"She never seemed to feel pushed out which is surprising as all our attention was focused on trying to get Leo better and home.
"She says Leo is in the stars and now tells Sonny and her friends too, I'm sure more questions will come as she gets older.
Nicola added: "She helped me and her daddy get through it, she is one very special little girl."
Evie's 20-mile walk has raised over £600, and you can donate to her fundraising page here.
