A school has benefitted from the community spirit of a Wrexham-based business.
Brother Industries, in Ruabon, is committed to to supporting the local and wider community, an approach that hasn't stopped during the coronavirus pandemic.
Last year the company approached local councillor Gareth Baines, who was looking businesses that could support the local community, at that stage specifically hospitals and care homes.
Utilising their in-house production facilities and plastic moulding department, Brother started manufacturing and donating protective face visors and splash shields.
With the support of Cllr Baines, the visors have been distributed to hospitals, care homes and healthcare centres as well as local schools, nurseries, small businesses and vulnerable individuals.
One of the latest to receive help is Wat's Dyke CP School, in Garden Village, which has been grateful for the firm's donation of 100 face shields.
Emma Roberts, Foundation Phase Leader at the school, said: "We are so grateful to Brother Industries for the part they have played in helping to keep staff and pupils safer in school."
To date, more than 7,500 visors and splash shields have been donated by Brother to over 1,000 organisations and individuals. 1,400 of these have been made through staff requests for donations.
Tony Lock OEM and production manager said: We will continue to donate to the local and wider community for as long as required through the support of all Brother staff and Cllr Gareth Baines, using our company motto 'at your side'. Please stay safe everyone."
