A FLINTSHIRE community has come together to spread the love this Valentine's Day.
A local tree in Penyffordd was 'brought to life' with love and crafts after handmade hearts and rainbows were knitted for the 'village Valentines tree'.
Residents were asked to knit the items, which were then placed on the tree, in a bid to spread joy during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yvonne Priddin, who came up with the idea, said it brought the whole community together.
She added: "With everyone being in lockdown, it gives us something to do and that will make the villagers smile out on their walks.
"Also the children enjoy putting on the items on the tree or counting how many are on there. I started this for Halloween, I put it out on our Facebook pages and the response was amazing, people either drop them off for me to put on or put them on themselves or family members do.
"We all swap patterns and help each other. We started with Pumpkins for Halloween and there was a great response, so we then did Christmas baubles which was fantastic, so we decided to carry on with these themes Hearts for Valentine’s Day.
"The week of February 22 to March 1 is the Grand Week in Wales so everyone is now knitting Welsh related items, after that is Easter chicks, bunnies and eggs for Easter, then we thought a summer theme lollies, ice cream anything to do with summer.
"We have a lady in Dobshill who decorates the notice board in keeping with our theme. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who knits, crafts and makes our village tree come to life."
