A COUNCILLOR has welcomed the investment needed to resurface a number of main roads in Wrexham.
Cllr Paul Rogers, of Brymbo Ward, has welcomed the resurfacing of sections of two main roads serving the community, which includes the completed work on Station Road that links Brymbo and Pentre Broughton, as well as the work that is set to commence on Coed Y Felin Road.
The works follow recent improvements on the county boundary at the junction of Ffrwd Road and Vicarage Road.
Commenting on the works, Cllr Rogers stated that residents have been positive in their feedback.
He said: "I'm pleased that a section of Station Road has been resurfaced.
"It's the main link between Brymbo and Pentre Broughton which has deteriorated significantly since the increase in traffic following the collapse of Queens Road.
"Coed Y Felin Road is now closed whilst council contractors carry out resurfacing.
"This investment makes a major difference for local road users.
"Funding is also allocated and further works are planned to address the issues around Queens Road.
"As with any resurfacing works there is disruption, however these works are much needed and I would like to thank Wrexham Council for this investment in our community."
The B5101 including Coed Y Felin Road and Vicarage Road to the junction with the Ffrwd/Minera Road Junction is expected to be closed until February 5.
