A FLINT man who failed to stop after an accident admitted being more than twice the drink-drive limit.

Kyle Nicholas Hurst, of Windsor Drive, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old admitted driving on the A548 at Bagillt on August 21 last year after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the prescribed limit.

He was found to have 78 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit being 35 microgrammes.

Hurst also admitted he had driven without due care and attention and that he had failed to stop following an accident involving a traffic light.

The court imposed a community order, requiring him to undertake up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity.

He was also fined £300 for the drink driving offence and £200 for driving without due care and attention.

No separate penalty was imposed for his failure to stop, but he was ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £95.

Hurst was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
