A MASONIC hall in Deeside has been targeted by vandals for the second time in a fortnight.

Youths were seen kicking in fence panels in perimeter fencing around Farfield Masonic Hall in Connah's Quay on January 2 - causing at least a couple of hundred pounds worth of damage.

It's the second time in as many weeks that this has happened at Farfield Hall - which has been closed since March.

The Leader: Similar damage was caused to the fence two weeks ago. Similar damage was caused to the fence two weeks ago.

Outside of the pandemic, it plays host to a variety of functions and events, such as wedding receptions and funeral wakes.

But courtesy of the pandemic, none of this money has been available to help maintain the building - compounding the effect of the recent vandalism.

Mandy Lloyd, manager of Farfield Hall, said: "The damage is awful. The Freemasons do a hell of a lot for charity and that building is solely maintained on takings of outside functions which at the moment we are not allowed to hold - so for this damage to happen is a big blow to us.

"There is just no need for it it’s just pure vandalism.

"Considering we are supposed to be in alert level 4, these children should not be out in big gangs and why are their parents not keeping their children in?"

The matter has been reported to North Wales Police which is investigating.
