POLICE have slammed littering after a mess was made in a public area of Flintshire.
Members of the South Flintshire policing team said litter was spotted scattered around Halkyn Common which ruins the 'idyllic landscape' and threatens wildlife.
However, officers also pointed out that the empty cannisters suggests recreational drug use which is 'very dangerous'.
A spokesman said: "This litter was found by members of the public in the area of Halkyn Common.
"Not only does this litter threaten to ruin our idyllic landscape and threaten local wildlife but the suggestion that these cannisters are being used for recreational drug use is very dangerous.
"When inhaled, this gas can cause a drop in blood pressure that can lead to fainting or even heart attacks.
"Know the risks and don't ruin our wildlife."
