GENEROUS volunteers dropped off a Christmas present for every child at their local primary school.
Team Red, a group of volunteers based in Penyffordd, visited Ysgol Penyffordd on Friday to hand over bags full of presents for the pupils.
They will also be doing the same at St Johns The Baptist School in Penymynydd on Monday.
The Leader has reported on Team Red's exploits throughout the pandemic, which has included organising memory walks and helping a new local animal rescue centre get off the ground.
Steve Saxon, landlord of the Red Lion pub and Team Red volunteer, said: "Team Red has tried to make 2020 as normal as possible for the children and families of Penyffordd.
"Whether it's been isolation packs, free school dinners over lockdowns, Halloween trails, Christmas market to meet Santa and his reindeer and ensuring that they all leave school with at least one present to put under their trees.
"The feedback that we have received from parents and children has been heart warming and all of the Team Red volunteers insisted on going the extra mile to make this happen.
"Now that 2020 is coming to an end we look forward to a better 2021 with lots more events, activities and fundraisers on our calendar already."
Team Red has also organised a free Christmas lunch for local pensioners at the Red Lion - which takes place on Saturday (December 11).
The meal - which is now fully booked - is a full three course meal paid for by local charities, Penyffordd Area Community Association (PACA) and Team RED volunteers.
