A PORTUGUESE man stabbed his housemate after being told it was his turn to take out the bins, a court heard.
Moises Fernandez, 44, of Norman Road, Wrexham, a forklift driver, admitted wounding in October last year.
He received an 18-month suspended jail term with 150 hours unpaid work and must pay £1,500 compensation and a £149 surcharge.
A five-year restraining order was made.
Judge Nicola Jones at Caernarfon Crown Court on Wednesday, December 9 told Fernandez: "You are a man who has come to this country and worked hard and lived a fairly blameless life until now.”
"This is a one-off incident born out of some disagreement in a shared household.”
The judge said the defendant had two knives and had been swinging them. He caught his victim’s arm, causing a superficial wound, but cut his chest which needed three stitches.
Simon Rogers, defending, said: "This is an offence which is entirely out of character. There was an air of hostility between the two of them. Sadly, on this day, it came to a head.”
