A CHIRK school has closed after a number of positive Covid-19 results among those on the site.
Ysgol Y Waun, in Lloyds Lane and Chapel Lane, will be closed from Monday, December 7, and some staff and children have been instructed to self-isolate for two weeks.
A statement released on the school’s Twitter page confirmed the closure, and stated that pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5, and school staff associated with those years, have been told to self-isolate.
Children in Nursery, Reception and Years 1, 2 and 6 have not been told to self-isolate at this moment, however the school is awaiting further test results which may change this.
The Rainbow Nursery at the school will also be closed until January.
The statement read: “We appreciate that this may be difficult for families, but we have to try and keep everybody safe, at a time when infection rates are, once again, rising.
“For more information regarding self-isolation, please refer to earlier letters and Public Health Wales guidance."
