IT'S been a whirlwind week in Wrexham.
It was only Monday when it was confirmed that our club Wrexham AFC would henceforth be owned by Hollywood actors and producers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Since then, shipments of gin have arrived in town, a hilarious spoof corporate video featuring Ryan and Rob was shared, and stars such as Russell Crowe (his grandad's from Wrexham you know?) have sent messages of support.
But its been the interaction with fans here in Wrexham that has most impressed people.
GOOD GRIEF!!!!

We are in tears here.
Speechless.

Here are the top five moments of social media banter with people in Wrexham from Ryan and Rob:
5. "Wrexham is the name". It was the tweet Wrexham was holding its breath for. The simple message with the badge of the historic club was posted on November 16 to confirm one of 2020's strangest stories (and it's been a heck of a year for strange stories) was true. Hollywood was coming to Wrexham.

The tweet by Ryan Reynolds was shared more than 5,000 times on twitter and liked by more than 80,000 people.
4. Ryan and Rob's responses to the photo of John Cleese and actor Jason Watkins in Wrexham shirts. Yes we do know the photo was two years old (thanks for everyone who let us know) but The Crown and Des actor Jason re-shared the photo to congratulate Ryan and Rob.

Responding, Rob tweeted jokingly that it was him and Ryan in the photo, saying: "Ryan and I couldn’t be more excited to watch our first game as Chairmen-elect. He’s taller than I remember but it’s so great to see him again.
And Ryan referenced Cleese's classic line in Fawlty Towers, tweeting: “But that is Torquay, madam”.
3. "Save one for me and see you soon". That was the message from Ryan Reynolds after Queensway councillor Carrie Harper thanked him for the deliveries of Aviator Gin, which the Deadpool actor has a stake in, arrived at Wrexham pubs like Saith Seren, the Fat Boar, and The Turf.

The reply from the Canadian superstar conjured images of him and Rob sharing a laugh and a drink with fans when they are able to come to Wrexham in person. As long as Rob doesn't bring the gang from Paddy's Pub (although that would be cool!
So @SaithSeren has had an @AviationGin delivery from @VancityReynolds! Can’t wait to welcome you and @RMcElhenney to @wrexham soon, your table is reserved, can’t promise there’ll be much Gin left though 😮🏴 @Wrexham_AFC @FatBoarWXM @welshy1000 @marcvjones @ArfonJ pic.twitter.com/Dzm7BIqmxf

Carrie replied: "You’ll have to hurry up or there won’t be much left, I’ll put one behind the bar."
2. Almost earning the top spot, it has to been the spoof corporate video made by Ryan and Rob to celebrate their takeover of Wrexham AFC. The video was an advertisement for the club's shirt sponsor Ifor Williams Trailers, resulting in the North Wales firm trending on twitter.
It's a must watch if you're one of the few people who hasn't seen it yet.
1. The best moment isn't on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. The moment when Wrexham fans through their club's new owners may really be something special occurred when Rob McElhenney made a donation of £6,000 on fan Aiden Stott's GoFundMe page.

It was the amount Aiden, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, needed to install a specially-adapted bath with hoist in his new flat. It will help the lifelong Wrexham fan and season ticket holder live more independently.
Aiden was delighted with the gesture and his optimistic about the future of his beloved club
Fans were quick to thank Rob on social media for the generous gesture.
