But what does Wrexham (and the surrounding area) have to offer the pair?

Here is our top ten things Wrexham can offer Ryan and Rob:
- Wrexham AFC. The first and most obvious is the football club itself. With a rich history and dedicated followings throughout the club's ups and downs over the years, many think Wrexham AFC is a sleeping giant that with the right backing could return to League One.
- Wrexham Lager. Can you imagine Rob and Ryan rubbing shoulders with the regulars at The Turf or Wrexham Lager Club? As co-owner of his own gin brand, Ryan may already be aware of the town's famous lager and the brewery has given an open invitation for him to pop in for a pint.
- Shops. They can get their geek on! Ryan Reynolds is best known for his role as Marvel anti-hero Deadpool. Boarder Collectables at Ty Pawb and Igam Ogam in Charles Street are the perfect places to stock up on comics, merchandise and American candy.
- The Odeon. The Eagles Meadow cinema is back open, although things are strictly socially distanced at the moment. The perfect place for Ryan to watch one of his or his buddy Hugh Jackman's latest flick.
- Food. Deadpool is known for his love of chimichangas. Flavoursome options in Wrexham include Portuguese eateries such as Vasco Da Gama and the Lisbon Tapas Bar. Or he could pick up a chippy tea from Everland Fish Bar in town.
- Tŷ Pawb. The cultural hub of Wrexham, the Hollywood pair might enjoy a visit. Tŷ Pawb is set to welcome visitors back into its galleries this October with the launch of a new exhibition, fittingly titled ‘The Tŷ Pawb Open’
- Gyms. Hollywood stars need to keep in tip top shape, especially those playing comic book characters. Rob McElhenney famously transformed his body in to toned, muscular perfection for a season of his show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Total Fitness, Valhalla Gym, and Simply Gym are some of the options in Wrexham.
- Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Designed and built by Thomas Telford and Williams Jessop, the structure is one of 'the jewels in the crown' of the UK's World Heritage Sites. Would Ryan and Rob enjoy a holiday on the canal? They wouldn't be the first Hollywood A-listers to do so. Remember back in 2004 when Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were spotted on a narrowboat holiday on Llangollen Canal. If the takeover is made into a movie, as is mooted, the canal would provide a perfect backdrop.
- Wrexham Museum. If the guys want to find out more about the region they are investing in, then Wrexham County Borough Museum is the best starting point. They can discover the eventful history of this region on the English-Welsh border.
- Eisteddfod. One every year, pre-pandemic of course, the world comes to North Wales. The actors are sure to be top of the list for complementary tickets for the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. First held in Llangollen in June 1947, the celebration of “Peace and Harmony” has made it one of the world’s great music festivals for the last 70 years.
