THE winning scarecrows have been revealed from a competition that entertained Flint residents during lockdown.
More than a dozen entries were put forward for the Off Flint Scarecrow Competition.
Scarecrows on show ranged from a talent show judge, super spy, cartoon characters and one scarecrow doing his best to avoid 2020.
The winner was crowned over the Bank Holiday weekend and the Simon Cowell entry - who was made by Lisa Marie Carroll on Prince of Wales Avenue - claimed the top prize of £150.
The runner up - who will enjoy a year's supply of toilet roll thanks to Essity Paper Mill - was revealed as Mr Bush who was made by Emma Young on Woodfield Avenue.
Every scarecrow that entered received a prize that was donated by local people and businesses.
Competition organiser Kirsty Smith said: “It has been another great year - not as many entries as previous years but the ones that entered were all fantastic."
Mrs Smith says that there was a wide range of designs across the town taking part.
She added: “Simon Cowell and Mr Bush seemed to be very popular. Mr PC was amazing slowing everyone down up on Bryntirion Lane! All the entries were fabulous and the feedback has been amazing from the community and I’m glad they are being enjoyed.”
