WREXHAM is set to lose both its Frankie & Benny's restaurants.
Following news in June that the chain's Eagles Meadow restaurant would be permanently closing its doors, its other Wrexham-based Italian-American diner - on Plas Coch Retail Park - is also shutting for good.
The Restaurant Group, which owns Frankie & Benny's, has confirmed the news amid plans to cut the number of its UK restaurants by more than 120.
A Frankie & Benny’s spokesperson said: "The casual dining sector has faced enormous, well documented pressures which have been exacerbated by Covid-19 and the lockdown.
"Unfortunately, we have had to take difficult but necessary decisions to ensure a sustainable future for our business.
"We have been in close contact with affected colleagues throughout this process and we are doing all we can to support them during this time.”
