PICTURES and drone footage show the latest scenes of demolition at Mold’s County Hall building.

The Leader has previously reported that senior councillors gave the green light to demolish parts of the Flintshire Council's traditional headquarters two years ago.

Staff vacated the buildings on Raikes Lane and were relocated across other offices at County Hall, another base in Flint and Ty Dewi Sant in Ewloe.

It was reported that the facility in Mold had become too expensive to run for the authority, with annual operating costs of £1.2m and estimated maintenance costs for the next 25 years predicted to be £26m.

Now, the demolition process is underway of the redundant building – near to Mold Law Courts.

Video footage and pictures taken by Buckley-based keen photographer Rob Garnett shows how work is progressing to clear the land occupied by the offices which were built in 1968.
