PART of the Deeside Industrial Estate was evacuated after a bomb shell was found.
The incident occurred at about 10am on Friday after workmen using a JCB digger unearthed the device in the car park of pet shop Contact Pets.
It is understood a bomb squad responded and removed the device.
Dave Clark, owner of Contact Pets, told of the moment someone ran into the store telling them there was a bomb outside and that they needed to evacuate the area.
He said: The site next to us is having new drains and they have been digging across our car park with a JCB digger. They ran over to us and told us that they had found an unexploded bomb. Then the police came and said we had to evacuate and shut up shop and we were all moved back.
"The bomb squad rolled up pretty quickly and dug the bomb out and put in the back of their van. It was all very exciting. We've been told that the bomb could possibly be from the 1960s and is from part of an old MOD site.
"It took around two hours or so from it being found to it being taken away and we were back in the shop and open for business again at 12pm. They took the bomb away to detonate it, but we're not sure where they took it."

A spokesman for North Wales Police confirmed they were called at 10.08am.
They said: "Workers on a building site on Deeside Industrial Estate have unearthed an ordnance shell.
"EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) in Chester have been called and are dealing with it. The council has also been informed."
A Flintshire Council spokesperson said on Friday afternoon: "Streetscene officers are supporting North Wales Police and Bomb Disposal officers after a device was discovered in DIP this morning."
EOD crews were later filmed detonating the device in nearby field.
