A FLINTSHIRE businessman has been delivering over 100 care packages to the most vulnerable as he aims to ‘make a difference’.

Ranjan Sinniah Sivaranjan moved to Saltney in 2005 where he opened his local Londis store.

Since the coronavirus lockdown, Ranjan pledged to help those most in need in a bid to give back to those who have helped his business for the last 15 years.

Ranjan set up the Saltney Covid-19 relief volunteer scheme with Richard Fleming, Arif Shaik, Gareth Blears, Keiran Hughes, Lee Tanner and Matthew Buckingham, who have been donating care packages to those unable to get out and about to get their shopping.

These packages are delivered free of charge to the community every Tuesday and include essential items such as eggs, bread, potatoes and sandwiches.

Over 100 houses are covered on a weekly basis.

Ranjan told the leader: “Our core message is restoring love and care in a failing world.

“Our store is a community store, survived all storms and still surviving just because of God’s Grace and Community Support.

“During this covid-19 crisis, I have decided to give priority to the people (who have been supporting me for almost 15 years) than running the business. I do believe in reciprocity and it’s my turn to serve them.

“It’s my honour and privilege to serve them when they needed me the most. I’ll continue to do the best for the people I love.”

Ranjan is urging other local businesses to do what they can for their community.

He added: “A Message to whom it may concern across UK, how you use to serve what’s given to you is what makes the difference. It’s not just what we say, it’s what we do right here in Saltney.”
